It’s been nearly a decade since we first wrote about Wabi-Sabi Noodle House, back in its early days at The Collective. Back then, it was a cozy spot with fewer than 10 tables, serving up delicious, healthy vegan fare — long before veganism was mainstream.
Fast forward to today, Wabi-Sabi has settled into a mezzanine spot at Makati Square, standing strong despite the challenges of the pandemic. It's even expanded to include Ikigai Kakigori Cafe, offering Japanese tea, coffee, homemade ice cream, and refreshing kakigori (shaved ice).
Ikigai Kakigori Cafe: Homemade Ice Cream
After some coffee and donuts nearby, we decided to indulge in Wabi-Sabi’s lighter offerings. The vegan siopao was filling and tasty, a perfect snack to take home for later. For dessert, we tried their matcha ice cream — a creamy, subtly sweet treat with just the right hint of green tea.

We were also excited to discover Wabi-Sabi’s new branch in Tomas Morato, Quezon City. The space has a charming Japanese teahouse vibe with both indoor and outdoor seating. You can expect favorites like the banh mi, shoyu ramen, potstickers, and their signature Vietnamese coffee.
While Wabi-Sabi Noodle House draws a crowd during lunch and dinner, snack time is the best time to visit. You can enjoy the food without the wait.
